The Academy plans trips for its students to area businesses to show them the myriad possibilities that exist-the many gratifying, living-wage-paying career opportunities here that do not require a college education.

The program teaches students, who opt into the program, how to prepare for and find meaningful work, training, certifications, internships and jobs with lifelong growth potential right out of high school. This project that began by successfully providing opportunities for high school seniors only in East Hillsborough County school has blossomed to include seniors in all Hillsborough County high schools. We wholeheartedly support and have been a part of the award-winning Future Career Academy (FCA) from the beginning. We are also committed to sharing about positive community events. She hasn’t missed one event, she’s helped me with college applications, scholarships, essays, cleanliness, money management, time management, and so much more I can’t name at the moment. And she remains there when it’s time to fix them. But she allows me to make my mistakes, while never leaving my side. My mother supports me, she loves me, she cares for me as a mother should. K welcomed me as her daughter and my child as her granddaughter, and we haven’t felt anything less since we established that we are a family. K’s home, and we haven’t looked back since. Since being with Hearts And Homes, I’ve never felt so welcomed. This email is simply an email of gratitude, and appreciation. She has truly opened her heart and home to this young mom. This note warmed our hearts and made our day, we are so grateful for this amazing and incredible foster parent.
